Zombie Zumba (Halloween party night)

Braaains, beats and bites. Our Halloween party night: dance, potluck snacks, spooky drinks, full on party. Zombies of all levels welcome.

About This Class

Once a year the Wednesday class comes back from the dead. This year the category is Zombie Zumba: dancing, eating (brains), and more dancing. Zombies, ghouls, vampires, witches, skeletons, cursed mermaids, all welcome.

It's two hours in the big upstairs room: about 60 minutes of dancing split into rounds, with snack and drink breaks in between because zombies need to eat too. Potluck-style, everyone brings something small to share. We chat, we dance, we eat, and we dance again.

This one counts as a normal class on your pack. Book it like any Wednesday. Bring a friend, parties are the best first class, they can grab a ticket on Eventbrite.

What to Expect

Costumes encouraged, effort optional. Ripped shirt, dark eyes, a bit of fake blood, done. Running straight from the office? No worries. Face paint, fake blood and accessories will be waiting at the door to zombify you on arrival. Doors open around 6:30 for makeup, dancing starts at 7.

All-levels friendly and judgement-free, with options to reduce impact, slow it down or take a pause whenever you need. Expect the usual Latin rhythms, pop and throwback bangers with a few spooky tracks worked in. Group photo and video moments throughout. If you'd rather not be filmed, give me a heads up and I'll keep you out of frame.

Not a UV night, normal room lighting. Lower-impact options always available. If you have access needs or questions about the space, message me.

Getting There

ESCAC is just behind Oxford Street on the corner of Burton St and Palmer St (yes, the one that ends with "Palms"). It's a few minutes' walk from buses running along Oxford Street.

If you're driving, street parking in Darlinghurst is possible, but it can be limited or time-restricted. Give yourself a little extra time to find a spot.

Pawel W.

Pawel is a certified Zumba instructor based in Sydney who's been dancing since 2018 — all thanks to a silly bet at the gym that turned into a passion. Originally from Poland, he brings high energy, infectious enthusiasm, and an unapologetic love of Latin rhythms to every class. His certifications include Zumba, Zumba Toning, Zumba Gold, and Strong Nation. When asked why he became an instructor, Pawel says: "I wanted to control the playlist. That's actually true."
